with Friends Of Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park
location: Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park – East Shelter
1725 NE 135th St, North Miami, FL 33181
Our purpose is a call to action. We intend to bring public recognition to the problems of Arch Creek’s water quality that is reportedly posing a threat to human health and the environment. A representative of the South Florida Water Management District has been invited and will attend.
Please Note – Updated Start Time: 2pm
Historic Arch Creek, a Biscayne Bay tributary, has been identified as one of the dirtiest waterways in Miami-Dade County, according to the Miami Herald, July 18, 2023. Both Miami-Dade County’s Arch Creek Park and the City of North Miami’s Enchanted Forest are on the banks of Arch Creek.
The Arch Creek Trust and Friends of Enchanted Forest, concerned about the risk of harm to wildlife and the parks’ visitors, particularly children, call for immediate community action.
We invite and urge the Community to join us for a listening session and discussion at 2pm on Saturday, October 21st, 2023.
We will learn what action steps we can take now; what we need to do in the near future; in addition to getting information about solutions that are either in process or proposed.
